kwerekwere is a south african word. it's used across both the bantu and nguni language groups to denote an unwanted foreigner. in practice this means a black person from north of the limpopo river, or east of kruger national park.
in the nguni languages, the singular is ukwerekwere, and the plural is amakwerekwere; in the bantu languages, the singular is lekwerekwere, with the plural being makwerekwere.
i'm foreign to south africa. my passport says "united states of america" and we'll leave everything else out of it. i was raised in a lot of places; have been evacuated from two war zones and two hurricane zones. i've had yellow fever once, and malaria more times than i can count.
i'm calling this my travel and politics blog. i have another account, but that talks too much about my sex life and how my life has gone downhill since my breakup from my no-good ex, and not enough about travelling, and other places, and politics, both local to south africa and international (including the american elections).
these are the countries that i've been to:

so. that's what this blog is for.
